Title: CA 2016-3 APPLICATION TO REPAIR THE NUTTY NARROWS BRIDGE Representatives of the Sandbaggers organization have reported the bridge 'deck', a used fire hose has worn out and needs to be replaced. The applicants report the hose is not a durable material and propose to change the material to durable rubber belting or treat a fire hose if installed again. Recommended action: Repair the bridge with a firehose as has been used in the past. Because the uniqueness and significance of the structure is related to the resourceful use of a 'local' material, and the material is still availible, the same material should be used. If a treatment is applied, the treatment should not affect the exterior appearance of the firehose material. Consider encouraging use of a paint or dye to preserve the yellow color of the fire hose if a treatment/preservation method is allowed.
