On July 20, 2015, the Parks Advisory Board endorsed the location and concept (minutes attached). At the November 23, 2015 regular meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC), the proposal to install two new markers for veterans at RA Long Park was approved. The HPC was primarily concerned with review for compatibility with the park and future plans for the park. As a new addition, the proposal is considered for its potential impacts to the historic setting of the park. The commission members ultimately determined the proposed markers have been designed to complement the existing veterans memorial marker on the site which is proposed to remain after the planned
