This will mark the 10th consecutive WellCity Award, which not only provides opportunity for employee health and wellness, but also a 2% discount for medical premiums in 2018.

The Washington State Legislature has announced the adoption and made uniform throughout the state the 2017 edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Ordinance No. 3346 adopts the 2017 NEC as amended by the State of Washington. The effective date for the implementing the 2017 NEC will be July 1, 2017.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends Council adopt Ordinance 3346 implementing the 2017 National Electrical Code consistent with and as required by the State of Washington.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On May 16, 2017 the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 3375
(IAFF) and the City reached Tentative Agreement on a 2017-2019 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Multiple articles in the contract were opened for review and some language changes to clarify/improve the contract were made.
The IAFF notified the City of its 4 member ratification on May 18th,
2017. The contract provides for a general wage increase as follows:
Effective January 1, 2017: 3% cost of living adjustment plus a general wage increase of 100% of the Portland-Salem CPI-W from July, 2015 - July 2016 with a minimum of 2% and maximum of 4%.
Effective January 1, 2018: 2% cost of living adjustment plus a general wage increase of 100% of the Portland-Salem CPI-W from July, 2016 - July 2017 with a minimum of 2% and maximum 4%.

Jim Appleby, General Manager of the Cowlitz Black Bears Baseball Club, has applied for a one-time special event permit for Friday, July 14, to include a post-game concert for the enjoyment of the fans and the community. Due to the uncertainty of game completion time, the applicant is requesting the ability to potentially continue past 10:00 pm. The request cites 11:30 as the anticipated latest time for concert conclusion with stage teardown concluding approximately 30 minutes later. Mr. Appleby has already met with several of the neighbors to get their input and concurrence to support the event and is in the process of meeting with other residential neighbors that are likely to be affected as well.
