The City Council now wishes to clarify and expand the permissible uses of surplus moneys in that fund in recognition that moneys expended for purposes such as law enforcement capital facilities and equipment also enhance public safety. On May 12, 2016, Council directed the City Attorney to draft an ordinance amending LMC 3.60 to expand the eligible uses of the Public Safety fund. That ordinance is attached.
