SUMMARY STATEMENT:

LMC 16.32 contains a process for abatement of dangerous dwellings.  However, because the process outlined in the code does not provide the procedural steps contained in RCW 35.80 the City would not be able to lien the abated properties to ultimately recover the costs of abatement.

The proposed amendment amends LMC 16.32 to closely follow the process outlined in RCW 35.80.
