Title: BID REVIEW - 2016 SEWER MAIN REPLACEMENT COUNCIL STRATEGIC INITIATIVE ADDRESSED: Provide sustainable water quality & environmental infrastructure SUMMARY STATEMENT: This project involves replacing two sanitary sewer mains. The first main is a deteriorated 10-inch main in the 1100 block of the alley between 8th and 9th Ave, from Florida St. to Hemlock St. This main is approximately 700 feet long with 26 private side sewer connections. The second main is an 8-inch main that was damaged by a fallen tree, and is located south of the 2300 block of West Hills Dr. and crosses over Consolidated Diking Improvement District No. 1 Ditch 6. This main has a suspended ditch crossing length of about 80 feet and replacement will include new structural supports and a protective steel casing to span the ditch. COUNCIL STRATEGIC INITIATIVE ADDRESSED:

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

$525,398.40 - Sterling Breen Crushing, Inc., Centralia, WA

 

$300,000.00 - Engineer’s Estimate

 

All bids received were determined to be regular and responsive. 

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

This project is funded by the Sewer Construction Fund.

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Motion to accept the low bid and award a contract to Advanced Excavating Specialists LLC, in the amount of $412,917.48
