Title: FISHERS LANE WATER TREATMENT PLANT REUSE COUNCIL INITIATIVE ADDRESSED: Provide sustainable water quality & environmental infrastructure CITY ATTORNEY REVIEW: N/A SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Fishers Lane Water Treatment Plant was taken out of service in April 2013. The plant continued to be used as the Cowlitz River intake for flushing Lake Sacajawea, and was considered for a new treatment facility if a Horizontal Collector Well system was developed for the City’s water supply. The City and Beacon Hill Water & Sewer District chose not to pursue a Horizontal Collector Well system, and the intake was recently modified and disconnected from the treatment plant for long term use as the Lake Sacajawea flushing intake. Staff will present information regarding potential future uses for the Fishers Lane Treatment Plant property. SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Fishers Lane Water Treatment Plant was taken out of service in April 2013.  The plant continued to be used as the Cowlitz River intake for flushing Lake Sacajawea, and was considered for a new treatment facility if a Horizontal Collector Well system was developed for the City’s water supply.  The City and Beacon Hill Water & Sewer District chose not to pursue a Horizontal Collector Well system, and the intake was recently modified and disconnected from the treatment plant for long term use as the Lake Sacajawea flushing intake.
