RESOLUTION NO. 2263 - A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A POLICY FOR PROCLAMATIONS

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The attached Resolution adopting a policy for City proclamations establishes certain guidelines and requirements that will apply to proclamations brought before the City Council for consideration. Generally, the City Council will consider requests to proclaim certain events or causes when the proclamation pertains to a Longview event, person, organization, or cause with local implications. Proclamation requests shall be timely, have a potential relevance to a majority of Longview’s population, and either forward positive messages or call upon support of the community.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to adopt Resolution No. 2263 adopting a policy for proclamations.
