BID REVIEW - 24TH / 25TH ALLEY WATER & SEWER MAIN REPLACEMENT

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This project will occur in the alley between 24th/25th Avenues, north of Maple Street. The water main portion of this project consists of installing approximately 1,010 feet of 8-inch and 4-inch water main, disconnecting and re-connecting 23 private water services, and installing 2 new fire hydrants and about 145 feet of 6-inch pipe connecting the hydrants. The sanitary sewer main portion of this project consists of installing approximately 680 feet of 8-inch sewer main, 23 service laterals, and 2 manholes. The project also includes replacing about 100 feet of 12-inch storm drain pipe, 3 catch basins, and restoring affected street and alley pavement.
On May 2, 2018, three bids were received as follows:

$854,927.23 - Advanced Excavating Specialists LLC, Longview, WA
$958,760.52 - Catworks Construction, Battle Ground, WA
$735,000.00 - Engineer’s Estimate
All bids received were determined to be regular and responsive.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
This project is funded by Water, Sewer, and Stormwater construction funds.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to accept the low bid and award a contract to Nutter Corporation in the amount of $765,701.49.
