SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Quarterly, the City of Longview Parks and Recreation Department has been recognizing an individual who enhances the quality of life for residents and inspires us every day with their passion and commitment to make Longview a better place to live, work and play. This quarter’s recipient is Jennifer Leach.  Jennifer has spent the last 33 years working for the WSU Extension 4-H program, focusing on youth development and families in the statewide assignment for the 4-H State Equine Program.  She also oversees the Strengthening Families program for Cowlitz County.  One of Jennifer’s most meaningful endeavors includes her role with Youth After Hours, a joint effort of several agencies coming together to provide after school programming.  This program received national recognition, including accolades from the National Recreation & Parks Association.  Jennifer is on her 22^nd year as a Longview School Board member, is active on the Health & Human Services Advisory Board, the Children’s Museum Board, and is an Early Edition Rotary member.  We would like to thank Jennifer for her dedication to improving the lives of so many Cowlitz County residents and her overall energy and passion to help create a healthier community!
