The area has an estimated population of 860 person and contains approximately 397 dwelling units. It also contains over a dozen businesses including restaurants, convenience stores, auto repair, appliance repair, marijuana store and self-storage businesses. The City has started the annexation process for this area several times over the last 15 years. However, for various reasons, the annexation process was never completed. City staff is asking the Council whether they want to begin the annexation process again. SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Along Ocean Beach Highway there is a 237± acre corridor of unincorporated land that is almost completely surrounded City limits.  The area has an estimated population of 860 person and contains approximately 397 dwelling units.   It also contains over a dozen businesses including restaurants, convenience stores, auto repair, appliance repair, marijuana store and self-storage businesses.

 

The City has started the annexation process for this area several times over the last 15 years.  However, for various reasons, the annexation process was never completed.  City staff is asking the Council whether they want to begin the annexation process again.
